Well, to me the fact that my distro offers geda in the first place is 
already sizable added value. I can do 
	apt-get build-dep pcb-gtk
and the system installs all packages necessary to build pcb from source. 
This significantly simplifies the process to compile the latest version 
form git head. All dev-packages are already in place -- well there may be 
an odd exception like currently with liblts when a new dependency is 
introduced.
