The semi automated order entry fab I use Does such slots or rectangles with the board outline layer. If you have a rectangular hole, it will have a min radius on the corners. If you have a sharp squarish thing to put in there, overshoot the corner a little with a round (cutter-shaped) cutout, (and some daylight will peek out as well as your display).
