It can be the same key, but there are two places geda-project uses ssh keys: If you are a site admin (i.e. you can log in to geda-project.org itself), there's a key in your home directory that allows this. Only site admins (and any site admin) can add other site admins. If you have git write privs, there's a key in the gitolite repo that allows this. Only git admins (and any git admin) can add new git committers.
