That IS how the users of PADS operate.  The netlist is the thing that is text checked, text processed,
if any.

But how bad is the human readable version of sqlite?

Searching for this, I find some talking encryption think it is OK as is even:

SQLite databases are pretty human-readable, and there isn't any built-in encryption.

but there are almost no hits.  Very few people think sqlite is "readable"

The data files could be densified some from the SQLite file.  Or just convert back and forth
from the existing file structure.
