From [2]: R7RS a subset of the large version retaining the minimalism praised by educators and casual implementors the final report has been available since August 6, 2013 "Scheme's very simple syntax is based on s-expressions, parenthesized lists in which a prefix operator is followed by its arguments. Scheme programs thus consist of sequences of nested lists. Lists are also the main data structure in Scheme" Not such a joke, but the desirable way forward for gschem improvements, since it will be the least effort path, and scheme is not all that bad for ECAD. It's a functional language -- everything in parallel. Functional is probably a "brick wall" for some programmers.
