There should be a roadmap for the product, which includes which widget toolkits to use in the future.

Internally, it would take a great deal of work to migrate to using any new widget toolkit. If development does not put effort into migration and waits until the last minute, there may be enough technical debt that the product won’t make the migration.

IMHO, from the developer perspective, having a roadmap is more important that the selection of which toolkit or when the migration occurs.
