I think you mean pcb area as specified by the extents of the board.

Since the outline support in PCB, I rarely depend on this feature and just 
set extents something 2x larger than my board is then draw the outline 
somewhat centered. This allows non-rectangular boards and connector silk 
(or even copper) going off the board edge. It also works around some 
corner cases of the UI around the edges as I won't need to go near the 
edges.
