  I think DJ made my point for me on this one.  Lisp being at the core
of emacs, AutoCAD, and at least one large commercial EDA package that
was mentioned in this thread, I think the argument for obscurity is a
crock of BS.

  However, even if it were "primarily not used at all", if I were in a
position to defend the use of gEDA vs. some commercial product, yes, it
would in fact be better.  "Lua?  Isn't that for childrens' toys?  See, I
told you that free stuff wasn't for real work."

  It's pretty clear that you simply don't like Scheme.  That's fine,
just keep it out of this thread.
