Subject: [geda-user] PCB file format, Difference between pin name and pin number?
From: Jason White <whitewaterssoftwareinfo AT gmail DOT com>

Currently I am working on a command line utility (eagle_inspector.py)
that can read a given eagle library file and provide a list the
contained footprints and symbols or spit out an internal
representation for a specific footprint/symbol. I am working on adding
support to convert the eagle representation into a gEDA/PCB compatible
one.

I've been reading the format specifications and have been unable to
find out, for the PCB file format, what is the functional difference
between pin name and pin number?

Thanks,
Jason White
