Not a demand, but possibly helpful:

As gEDA somehow doesn't manage to get out a release (not pointing to 
anyone), you could perhaps manage to set up a weekly build of the tools. 
Ubuntu has PPAs for this, perhaps your distro has something similar.

Or just grab a snapshot and make a distro package from it, if your 
distro allows this.

If you know how to make these packages, it might also be helpful to try 
to automate this and put the tools/scripts into gEDA's repository, so 
gEDA can provide installable packages it's self. Installing a provided 
package is waaay easier for mere users than compiling from source.
