That's quite a lot of manual labor!
I would have gone the way:  gschem -> eps -> LaTeX with psfrag ->
ps/pdf to achieve similar result.
Given that you've typeset your paper in LibreOffice, another
conversion from PS/PDF to image/vector format could have been added.
