Trailing lower case letters are special cased, either end in an upper
case letter or add a digit.

Historically, lower case letter suffixes were used for selecting a gate
in a chip, like a quad NAND gate being U5a, U5b, etc. and pcb ignores
those suffixes when searching for parts.
