Subject: [geda-help] Schematic Component Not Recognised By gnetlist
Reply-To: geda-help AT delorie DOT com

Hey there geda-help mailing list!

I am currently trying to get my first project out using the geda toolkit
and though there is a rather steep learning curve, I am making really
nice progress. Thanks to all who have contributed to make this product
a reality.

I am, however, having some issues with one custom schematic component
being recognized as such by several gnetlist backends (so far, tested
with backends bom2 and geda).

The component is an IC whose symbol I made myself. All the pins are
properly labelled (pinnumber, pinseq all defined and unique)

My component has the following promoted attributes as seen on the
schematic sheet

C 60800 44300 1 0 0 TPA3111D1.sym
{
T 60800 44300 5 10 1 1 0 0 1
device=TPA3111D1
T 61195 49250 5 10 1 1 0 0 1
refdes=U4
T 61695 49250 5 10 1 1 0 0 1
value=TPA3111D1
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
vendor=Digikey
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
vendor-number=296-25121-1-ND
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
manufacturer=Texas Instruments
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
manufacturer-number=TPA3111D1PWPR
T 60800 49500 5 10 1 1 0 0 1
description=10W Class D Mono Amplifier
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
footprint=TPA3111D1
T 60800 44300 5 10 0 1 0 0 1
symversion=1.1
}

Testing with gnetlist -g geda shows that the respective pins of the
symbol are connected and properly recognised when dealing with any
connected components, but my problem component (here, refdes U4) does
not show up in the components section of the output netlist or on the
verbose log

*********************
Some output pastes
*********************
- Netlist created by gnetlist -g geda
http://pastebin.com/05Kh3uKx

- Verbose log output from previous netlist
http://pastebin.com/XdfTxbBh

In the above pastes, there is no U4 being reported except on individual
net connections.

Hopefully, someone can help me in debugging this issue. What could be
missing from the component? I will continue to tinker and see if there
is any additional useful information I can add to this. Thanks to all
in advance.
