(Below is more or less what I e-mailed the GNU Autoconf team, but they
annoyingly say, "Take it up with the DJGPP Bash maintainer" [which
IIRC is /dev/null], so I'm posting it here despite my own skepticism):


I have tried this in various setups, on Vista, XP, even under DOSEMU.
So please, don't tell me I didn't give it an honest shake.   :-)   But
for some reason, ever since Reuben (rrt) upgraded to AutoConf 2.64 for
Zile, it just bombs out when using DJGPP Bash. Ugh, I have no idea.
:-/   Note that he took a look at my config.log and didn't find
anything (no surprise).

On XP, it aborts at the same place, but instead of silently, it
actually GPFs, oddly enough:
