Just for consistency, I think I'll paste here what he said fixed his problem: ------------------------------------------------------- Dear List - I apologize for the difficulty I have caused you, with a question which turned out to be rather foolish. The comment that I should look at my open statements finally showed me the answer... I was trying to open a file for a binary write with the mode as "w" instead of "wb". The other files of a similar nature I had opened with "wb". The write proceeded to a point, and then failed. Sorry. I hope I learn from my mistakes.
