Maybe you will find Ozone interesting (latest source at www.flox.at.tf).
The sources includes multi-threading but it is commented out because it
had some bugs. But I think Ozone would be a really good starting point.

Forget Seal. I had developed a player in the past (long ago) but Ozone
is more useful.

The source of TriDOS is available, also a fix for a very big bug. So ... ;-)
