Thanks for the attempts at help, Rod, but I already tried all that.

I think by coincidence I stumbled upon the answer with all my recent
Ada curiosity. It must be some conflict of exceptions when trying to
use GNU Pth and FPU emulation at the same time. (I guess FSU Pthreads
somehow avoids this, found a compiled version of LIBGTHRE.A inside
GNAT3104.ZIP inside EZL1998F.ZIP on Simtel under /ada/, but I'm highly
skeptical it'll work !! No clue how M.K. got it to work in 4.57.)
