You need at first not the very newest version of GCC. For example GCC-3.3.6 should be OK.
Additionally it is rather big mess to get all needed stuff to compile (it includes GDB, TVision, 
SetEdit) and aranging it so that RHIDE Makefiles find all needed.

Last GDB version which I have tested is GDB-6.3.
