You have to be careful referring to things here.  There are at least
two distinct PATH variables you might be talking about: one is the
PATH originally set in autoexec.bat (or similar), and used by the DOS
command interpreter(s), the other is the PATH set up inside bash for
the duration of the session.

The latter can use either ';' or ':' for separators --- that's
entirely your choice.  Please do consult djgpp/gnu/bash*/README.DOS.
