Also, if you type the file name in the textbox in quotes, it will 
*gaurantee* that you get the extention that you want.  e.g., in the Save 
As... box, select "All File Types" and then in the textbox for the file 
name, type "Filename.c" (INCLUDING the quotes) and you'll be set.
