That just means that if someone posts spam to the newsgroup, it will
appear in the newsgroup, since the newsgroup is unmoderated and news
is distributed.

I try to block spam going from the newsgroup to the mailing list, but
that too is imperfect.  I do note that most of the spam comes from
mail, though.
