Hi,
    may be I'm missing some thing.  Why with winzip so readily available would anyone other than
Linux people need gzip? and why do we have bzip?

    The latest winzip I seem to remember seeing tar and gzip whizzing past as I installed it.  I
think it can even uncompress a unix compressed file.  I do not want to be critical just curious as
to how all these gnu ports fit into the big picture.
