Tried with flags '-O2 -g' and can confirm the problem. Line information seems 
to be totally broken both with gcc-3.0.4 and gcc-3.1 20020509 (prerelease)
Attaching ZIP file (sorry for encoding, but don't want to send large files 
here) with output of 'objdump --debugging' for both cases.

True, this case works also for me. But anyway I often have troubles also with 
stubs debugging info.
