What do you mean by ``disk drive starts''?  GCC accesses the disk
quite a lot, both to read your source files, to write the object
files, and to write temporary intermediate files.  So there should be
no surprise that your disks work when GCC runs.

Or did you mean some special disk drive, like the floppy or something?
If so, please provide the details (what drive letter and what type of
disk is that).
