Sorry, what I wrote earlier was wrong: kbhit doesn't return the code of 
the character, just zero or non-zero depending if there is a key waiting 
to be read.  But you can check if kbhit returns non-zero, and if so, read 
the character with a call to getkey(), which will return 3 if you hit 
Ctrl-C.
