This is wrong; you need to do this:

  SET PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN;%PATH%
  SET DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV

Note the backslashes: they are important.

What do you meant by ``won't work''?  Did you see some error messages?
