I never tried any  FreeDOS' , maybe I should ?

you probably mean : "xmsdsk 10000 z:" followed by  "xmsdsk 10000 y"

but I only get the z-ramdrive , the y-ramdrive is nonexistent.
At least on my system. 
But I can live with it.
I still have my (smaller) ramdrives from MS-DOS'  autoexec.bat
and they are compatible.
