Do read the FAQ, as suggested.  However, I'd like to point out that
for small size, you should use -O2 instead of -O3.  (-O3 enables
function inlining, which generally makes code bigger (and sometimes
slower)).  You could also use -Os, which will try to optimize for size
at the expense of speed.
