I recently download an emacs file, emacs v.20.7. I've unpacked it and I now
want to instal it. I'm using DJGPP on a Windows95 system and installing a
version in MS-DOS. I've read the "Readme" file contained in the emacs and
the installation instructions say to activate the "Configure" script, then
"Make", and so on. My problem is in activating the "Configure" script in
the first step. The file says to go to the directory containing the source
code "/src" directory in my case and type "./configure" to activate the
script. When I do this at the command prompt I get a "Bad command" error.
Which is understandable to me because the configure file I have has no
extension, it's not a .bat (batch file) or an .exe (executable) so I don't
understand how to activate the "Configure script in the first place. Any
explainations, advice, or suggestions as to how to activate the "Configure"
file (under MS-DOS) would be greatly apprectiated.

Thanks much.
