Please tro be more specific. As rule of thumb, tell us what _did_
happen, instead of what didn't. I.e.: did the program crash on you,
or did the screen output look funny, or what else?

I don't think that can be the reason --- there's no pre-main() type
code in the conio implementation which could rely on it being called
before the first call of cprintf() is allowed to happen.
