Hello all,

I have a question about bash. FIGNORE variable never worked. I have

  FIGNORE=.o:.O:.obj:.OBJ:\~
  export FIGNORE

in /_bashrc, and echo $FIGNORE tells me that it's

$echo $FIGNORE
.o:.O:.obj:.OBJ:~
$

With ls, I still see object files. What am I missing?

MY os is win98. Thank you very much!
