But you can't edit it from DOS or Windows anymore. Read the DJGPP FAQ. You have to use the Windows GUI tools to edit autoexec.bat. I recommend setting the TZ variable from a DOS script rather than using the GUI tool. Setting the TZ variable in autoexec.bat may cause unexpected dates in some email programs, notably some versions of Eudora. Felix
