Well, the minimum size of an IP packet is 576 bytes, so that should be
more than enough to hold the header data, whichever of these sizes is
used.

Thanks, that looks OK.
When you test your program, do you do it over a dial-up link or is it over
Ethernet?
I can't really explain your problems. Would it be possible for you to send
me the source code? Then I could try to reproduce the problem when I have
some free time later this week.
