Yes, it's safe, but I suggest to upgrade to the latest bnu210b.zip, which 
is better and safer.  Don't use beta software unless you are prepared to
deal with unexpected problems.

All of them.  See my other message in this thread (posted yesterday).

I didn't see any fatal messages that were related to Binutils.  If you 
mean the "unresolved references" to enable_irq and restore_irq, that's 
another issue.  I don't think it's related to Binutils, but just in case, 
upgrade to Binutils 2.10 and try again.
