Perhaps you were thinking about C++ headers.  In C, limits.h is still the 
standard header.

``For a while'', yes, but not for a long while: DJGPP v2.03 was released 
less than a year ago.

Also note that quite a few ports of GNU and other packages were updated 
since then, and are still being updated on a regular basis.
