Was *that* exactly your command line? Including '-----' as the
filename base part? In that case, I think you may have hit a bug in
gcc, which you could quite easily avoid by using somewhat more
sensible filenames. Try

	ren -----.cpp mytest.cpp
	gxx mytest.cpp -o mytest.exe

and see if that makes a difference.
