after calling allegro_init() and
install_sound() try something
like this:

SAMPLE *music = load_wav("somewav.wav");
play_sample(music, ...);

or

MIDI *song = load_midi("somemidi.mid");
play_midi(song);

but deffinitly check Allegro's
documentation to get every thing
correct.
