I think RHIDE doesn't have any problems with CRLF either.  Info files
in many packages are DOS-style CRLF files, so you would probably see
this problem in many cases.

You could try to reproduce the problem again by running libc.info
through the UTOD program supplied with DJGPP.  If that causes the
problem to reappear, please post the details here.  (You can convert
the file back to Unix-style LF-only format with a companion utility
DTOU.)
