Thanks Eli, I guess that's what it was, after removing djgpp emacs with
"rm -f" and again unzipping em2005b.zip and em2005li.zip, I loaded c-mode
without a problem.

Then I went on and tried debugging file with "M-x gdb" only this time I got
yet another unexpected message: "Multi-processing is not supported for this
system". I got the same message when I enter "gdb -v" at gdb prompt in
mini-buffer.
