> Can someone explain me what does is_linear instruction mean

I assume you mean, is_linear_bitmap().

The is_linear_bitmap() function is used to test whether a BITMAP is linear,
i.e. that it's image data is stored in the "obvious" way (you can access
pixels simply by their (x+y*width) offset). Memory bitmaps and Mode 13
screen bitmaps are linear.

I can't imagine you'd be interested in this function without already knowing
about it, so I am a little curious as to why you're asking. Why don't you
refer to the Allegro documentation for some real information?

Edmund.
