That's a well-known installation problem, caused by NT below version 5
not letting DOS programs access files with long names (streambuf is
more than 8 letters...). You have to use a DOS unzipper to unpack the
DJGPP .zip files to avoid that.

The 'README.1st' would have told you about this. Why didn't you read it?
