Not a very good method, IMHO. It's easier to use absolute paths to the
utilities inside the Makefile. Manually Fiddling with the contents of
$PATH creates more problems than it solves. PATH is supposed to be
relatively static. It can be useful to modify it for setup-type batch
files, but otherwise, PATH is part of that 'running system' you should
'never change', as the saying goes.
