Did you unzip with unzip32.exe from the DJGPP site?  If not, your 
directory tree may be messed up, and that might produce some really
weird error messages.  In particular, make sure your tmp subdirectory
exists and is writable.

If the above doesn't help, add -v to the compilation command line and 
post here *everything* that the compiler prints.
