Your point is well taken.  But all I want from HOME is to identify my
"home directory", be that `/home/user' on the Sun or `/' on my single-
user DJGPP at home.  From there my directory structure (for the given
application) is identical on both machines and makefiles know what to
do.  Or do I miss something?
