John,
I'd forget about the CD for now (except for the examples) and download the
entire thing from the DJGPP web site. Most of it is updated to fix a few
traps, besides, it's free. Also, on running it, make sure you've modified
your autoexec.bat file properly, putting these two lines
set PATH=C:\DJGPP\BIN;%PATH%
set DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV
at the top of your file.

I've just recently purchased Sams Teach Yourself C in 21 Days the Complete
Compiler Edition. This book came with DJGPP Version 2.02. The Readme.1st
and the FAQ seem to focus on your web site and what to download from it.
Since the book came with the CD I'm not sure what if anything I need to
download. I can't seem to get it to run even though I loaded the CD and a
DJGPP folder and folders under that are created. I running Windows 98 2nd
