I am having troubles with mkdir() and and paths containing the
"/dev/env/FOO" syntax.

With  "$YAFC=\yafc", this code fails:

if (mkdir ("/dev/env/YAFC", S_IRUSR|S_IWUSR|S_IXUSR) != 0)
  perror("");

The mode is '0400 | 0200 | 0100' = 0700 (octal)

Is that supposed to work?

Gisle V.
