I don't know wether it would help to solve the problem but there is a
driver which provides LFN support witten by  Wojciech Galazka
<wojciech DOT galazka AT polkomtel DOT com DOT pl>.

You might want to to give the driver a try and see whether it solves the
LFN related issues for compiling GCC under NT.
