Another way is to edit the configure scripts and replace all
"test -f $ac_dir/$ac_word" with "test -x $ac_dir/$ac_word". Use something like
"s/test -f \$ac_dir\/\$ac_word/test -x $ac_dir\/$ac_word/g" in the sed script.
