Of course, if you use the MinGW package instead of MSVC, you don't
have to worry about GCC features; they're still there.

Most multimedia apps are.

Allegro works just fine on Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris systems
(so far). Even on non-x86 systems.

Three distributions:
  foo-dos.zip (EXE for users on DOS)
  foo-win.zip (EXE for users on Sindows)
  foo-src.zip (Source code for users on *nix and hackers)
