Well... I guess what is being said is that since you don't actually type
anything into a dos prompt to compile your program, it is not a dos prompt
compiler. (Cause that would mean you would have access to a prompt. :) 

What TC really is, is a dos program that acts as what is called an overlay, or
front end. You do stuff in the program, and it uses external programs to
complete those tasks. (such as compiling a program.) Hope this helps.
